What to do for recertification
In order to complete your recertification electronically, please follow the steps below:
1. Log on to the practitioners' only area of this website. Phone or email the OTBNZ if you need your username and password.
2. Ensure your CCFR is up to date by clicking on the CCFR tab, and updating where required.
3. Go to your third party screen by clicking on the Supervisors / Third Parties tab, and then the My Third Party tab.
4. Nominate a third party for this practising certificate application by clicking Edit this page, and then + New Item. Find your third party by entering in their name or registration number, then click Search. In the search result click on the Third Party to select and make it bold. Click OK to return to My Third party page and click on the Save this page button.
5. You can check the status of your third party nomination at any time by going to the third party screen as in step 3 above.
6. Once your third party has completed the third party declaration, click on the Applications / Payments tab, and then the Practising Certificates tab.
7. Enter in your requested practising certificate start date, e.g. 1 April 2012, and click Apply for Practising Certificate
8. Choose either short term or annual practising certificate, and click Apply for Practising Certificate again.
9. The application form is split up into a series of pages. Answer all the questions on each page, and click Next to move to the next page.
10. When prompted to, click Select Payment and Payment Method, indicate your method of payment, and click Next.
11. After answering the remaining questions, you will be asked to review your answers. If all your answers are OK, click Finish.
Processing Time
If the OTBNZ receives a complete application and fee before 15 March, your application will be processed before 31 March.
If you apply after 15 March, the OTBNZ cannot guarantee that processing will be completed before 1 April.
Important things to remember about your CCFR
1. The recertification process is a snapshot of a point in time. You need to have one 'current' objective and activity in each competence area. There should be sufficient information in your critical reflections of completed objectives and activities, to demonstrate your participation in the framework to date.
2. The recertification date is NOT the start and end date for all objectives and activities. You will have objectives and activities which you have not yet completed. This is NOT a problem, and you do not need to enter critical reflections, although you may do so if you wish.
3. Supervisors' comments are NOT required for recertification purposes. Your supervisor may or may not elect to comment on your CCFR. Some supervisors may choose to comment only when you have completed the objective or activity and added your critical reflections; others may add comments at different stages.
4. Update your critical reflections for completed objectives and activities. Your critical reflection should be sufficiently detailed so that it can be read and understood without requiring additional documentation.
